"The Drive" is the first book in the Tallgrass Trilogy. Lonnie's character, James Howard, kept the family ranch in Texas going while his father was away fighting in the War Between the States. When his father returned, it was to a parched and bleak land with cattle selling only for the hides. James and his father decided to take a chance and move their cattle north where they heard cattle prices were much better. "Osage Legacy" is the final book in the Tallgrass Trilogy and the following of the Howard family living in the Osage Hills fighting more gun battles and chasing rustlers.

If  you like a good story about horses, you will love "Little Man's Dream". This is Lonnie's latest novel about an older Thoroughbred trainer named Spunky Davis. This tells of Spunky's dream of raising a horse good enough to run in the Derby that first Saturday in May.
